UTS Bachelor of Nursing prepares you for the exciting and challenging role of the Registered Nurse. This course offers you a comprehensive range of theoretical and clinical nursing subjects that together provide the knowledge, skills and professional values graduates require to provide safe, effective and compassionate nursing care. You will be well prepared for clinical practice and highly sought after for employment in a wide range of healthcare settings across Australia and internationally.
The course is three years full-time (or equivalent part-time), consisting of both theoretical and practical components. Clinical learning is a key element of the course and clinical placements in health care settings begin in the first session of your first year and will continue every session thereafter. Simulation-based learning opportunities are integral to the course and are designed to assist you in preparing for clinical placements and your future role as a Registered Nurse. In your final year of study you can choose a specialty elective, for example paediatrics, critical care, peri operative, or mental health nursing to align your education with future career aspirations.
The Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation (BCII) enhances your discipline-specific studies with a powerful, future-focused edge. Designed as a transdisciplinary degree, the BCII brings together students from a wide range of fields to develop advanced skills in critical and creative thinking, innovation, complexity, collaboration, entrepreneurship, and future scenario planning.
