The ambitious MAP-fis programme is a joint initiative by the Universities of Porto, Minho and Aveiro, which aims to qualify autonomous researchers, who are able to make original scientific contributions with a practical element and a rigorous theoretical basis. Research developed under MAP-fis covers fields from nanoscience to high energy physics, from subatomic particles to black holes, lasers and ultra rapid optical phenomena to medical physics and meteorology, while benefiting form the collaboration of leading universities in Europe and from the rest of the world.
