Organized by the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences (FPCEUP) and the Faculty of Fine Arts (FBAUP) of the University of Porto, the Master's Degree in Visual Arts Teaching in the 3rd cycle of basic and secondary education (MEAV) is a project for the academic and professional training of teachers in the visual arts, articulating knowledge and skills of a scientific and pedagogical nature capable of responding to the challenges faced by art education. Throughout the cycle of studies, training in the area of teaching, supervised teaching practice and research in visual arts aim to contribute to the critical discussion of the problems that affect the school and teachers' actions, through innovative teaching and learning methodologies, in close relationship with the epistemological field of art education.

Admission Requirements

To apply to U.Porto's 2nd cycle courses (Master’s degree courses), you must meet the following conditions: hold a Bachelor's degree or a legal equivalent in the fields specified by the school/faculty; hold a foreign higher education academic degree which is in compliance with the Bologna process or recognised by U.Porto as meeting the objectives of the Bachelor's degree; AND have an academic or professional career recognised by the University, which proves the applicant’s capability to enter the study cycle.
