Program importance: The training in the master program “Computer Science and Engineering” is aimed at students who have interest and would like to gain and deepen their knowledge in the field of computer systems and software technologies.  General characteristics of the education:  The education in the master program “Computer Science and Engineering” focuses on providing knowledge and skills to design, develop and maintenance modern computer system and technologies. The program offers balanced training in disciplines that study the engineering aspects of hardware and software technologies as well as core areas of computer science. The master engineer will acquire knowledge and skills to solve complex practical problems through the implementation of all phases of systematic and scientifically based approach of research, analysis, design, implementation and verification based on the recent advances in dynamically changing professional field of computer and software technologies. The student that choose the master degree program in “Computer Science and Engineering” will get theoretical knowledge and practical skills to solve complex problems through systematic implementation of hardware and software solutions following all stages of research, analysis, design, development, implementation, verification and validation based on the recent advances in dynamically changing professional field of computer science and software technologies. The graduated student can apply scientific approach in order to develop innovative services, applications and solutions at a conceptual level as well as relevant to specific consumer requirement; can evaluate and compare different technologies in order to select optimal solution and make strategic decision and business development; can develop, explore, construct, modify and maintain innovative hardware and software systems; can suggest innovative solutions for application of software technologies in a wide range of areas and implement solution to practical problems. The graduated students will be able to transfer their knowledge and skills of other professionals through modern forms, methods and means as well as be able to improve their own knowledge and skills for further qualify. Students will receive the necessary theoretical knowledge and research skills that allow them to continue their education in a PhD degree. Educational and professional goals: The goal of the training in the master program in “Computer Science and Engineering” is consistent with the university mission, vision, values and strategy. Master engineers are trained for research, teaching, expertise, design, consulting, entrepreneurial, management and other creative activities. Mastering the modern technologies in each of the areas of study the students can solve complex engineering and management problems. The master degree program in “Computer Science and Engineering” is intended for students who have interest and would like to deepen their knowledge and skills in the field of computer systems and software technologies. The educational purpose of the training is to prepare the students for research work and solving engineering problems by employment and usage of advanced computer and software technologies. Apart from the classical forms of education a modern interactive methods of learning and communications with students are also used.  The master program students are creative professionals of the innovative information and communication technologies and are capable of successful horizontal and vertical mobility at the national and international levels and have ability for further self-qualification and continuous improvement of their skills. The special training includes study of compulsory and optional subjects that allow students to choose a training path according to their professional interests. The compulsory courses provide intensive training in the areas of GRID technology, web applications development, computer vision and image analysis, semantic web, numerical research methods, optimization for design of systems on chip, software design, query based languages. The optional subjects cover the areas of fuzzy logic and fuzzy sets, software applications in healthcare, computer security, data mining, egovernment, information technologies for business management, geographic information systems, network communications and wireless technologies. Employment of the graduates:  The master degree engineers will have the knowledge and skills to work as researchers, developers, designers, educators, executives, managers, entrepreneurs, consultants in public and private companies in Bulgaria or abroad, with scientific, research, management, production and entrepreneurial activities in the field of information and communication technologies and their application in everyday life, business, industry, construction, transport, agriculture, medicine, ecology, energy, defense and security, security and security activities and more.
