The Bachelor's Degree in Business Informatics (BI) in German (Wirtschaftsinformatik) at the Faculty of German Engineering Education and Industrial Management (FDIBA) follows s German curricula and is taught in German by German and Bulgarian lecturers. It is held in cooperation with the Otto von Guericke University in Magdeburg (OvGU Magdeburg and includes a two semesters study in Magdeburg. Graduates are awarded “Bachelor – Engineer-manager” by TU-Sofia and a respective degree by OvGU.

Bulgarian citizens and citizens of the EU Member States and the European Economic Area, who hold a diploma for secondary education, can apply for students in the specialty "Business Informatics in German" by public order at the Technical University - Sofia. Applicants from other countries can enroll in this specialty in paid training.

Applying is done by submitting application documents and ranking by specialty. Only candidates who have successfully passed the competitive examinations (tests) and / or the state matriculation exams (matriculation) in the subjects envisaged for the respective specialties shall participate in the ranking.

For students who do not speak German at B2 level and do not hold the DSD II, ZOP, DSH or TestDaF certification at this level, intensive language courses are offered, and a language exam is passed.

What do you study?

The Bachelor course is 8 semesters long, divided into fundamental and specialized training, and students, that want to acquis a German diploma, are must study two semesters at the OvGU Magdeburg. Basic study includes courses in computer systems and technology, computer science and business sciences. During the specialization, elective subjects are studied, which give deeper knowledge of computer systems and technologies and business sciences. Knowledge and skills are deepened in the specialized fields chosen by the students, 20 weeks practice is conducted, and a bachelor thesis is developed. The training can be continued in the master's degree in the same or another specialty.

Opportunities for student mobility

In order to obtain a diploma from a German partner university, students of FDIBA must study two semesters in it, which can be completed with a DAAD funding. They can be also enrolled in a mobility program for the purpose of study or practice through Erasmus + program.

My realization

The chances of professional realization of the graduates are excellent, not only because of their very good foreign language skills, but also because of the broad and interdisciplinary knowledge and skills they acquire, as well as obtaining German diplomas. A huge number of undergraduate students go on to master's programs, and those seeking employment in the labor market receive adequate offers in companies in Bulgaria such as: HP, Microsoft, Software AG, SAP, IBM, Musala Soft, Progress and many others. Some of them are sold abroad, mainly in Germany.
