The training in the specialty "Business Management" aims to develop students' knowledge, skills and competencies that correspond to the current needs of the labor market and management professions in business and the public sector. The quality of the educational process is guaranteed by an intergovernmental agreement between Bulgaria and Germany.

The Business Administration study model and winter and summer semester curricula were developed in close cooperation with Germany's largest private university, FaGIOPM's partner university, the FOM Essen. The training in "Economic management" is from professional field 3.7 Administration and management.

In response to the high demands of the labor market, the need to develop the competencies of the 21st century, as well as educational standards, the training in "Business Management" covers a complex of competencies - basic, technical, professional (business and management competencies). The training takes place within 1000 classroom hours and 2600 hours outside the classroom, with a duration of 4 semesters of study and 1 semester of diploma design. The set of elective subjects creates prerequisites for the application of a personalized approach in education. The training is conducted in German.

The training actively focuses on innovations in the learning process, practical training and cooperation with organizations from the practice. Lectures, seminars and consulting for the development of a diploma thesis are conducted by professors from Germany and Bulgaria.

Upon successful completion of studies in Bulgaria, students graduate as "Master of Business Administration" and receive a Bulgarian and German diploma. The German diploma is issued by the FOM University – Essen, Germany. The duration of the study is 4 semesters, and the diploma design is 1 semester.

  • Copy of German language proficiency certificate. Candidates without a certificate can take the candidate student exam in German or the TestDaF exam at TU-Sofia.

As a result of the training in the "Business Management" specialty, knowledge and skills are acquired in the field of the studied disciplines. This includes 21 compulsory subjects, 2 electives and 3 optional subjects (regular form of study in winter and summer semester). The acquired knowledge and skills are the result of the studied disciplines: Basics of management; Business Economics; Law; Basics of Marketing; Accounting; Business German; Controlling; Business English; Finance; Management of human resources and organizational processes; Marketing Management; Research work and presentation techniques; Strategic Management; Quality management; International economic relations; Intercultural communications; Innovation management; Strategic Marketing; Management simulation game; Project management; Operations Research and Management Decisions.

Opportunities for student mobility

Students can study within one semester at the partner university in Germany FOM (Hochschule für Oekonomie & Management) – Essen, they can develop their thesis, as well as participate in Erasmus student mobility.

The career development and professional growth of the students of the "Business Management" specialty begins with the training. The variety of opportunities for their professional realization in the different management levels of business and the public sector is the result of the development of business competencies, management and organizational skills and competencies, as well as competencies related to the practical use of software solutions and technologies for making effective management decisions in the dynamically changing business environment. The successful implementation of the students is the result of partnerships with a number of organizations from industry and business - FESTO, Liebherr, Siemens, BASF, BOSCH, Würth, BLUBITO, Musala Soft, Microsoft, HP and many others.
