The Masters in Telecommunications obtain fundamental knowledge that gives an overall view in the professional field of Communications and Computer Technologies. They study subjects like: Probability theory, Theory of Wireless Communications, Computer Programming, etc.
To satisfy the requirements for mobility and specific interests of the students there are groups of optional (elective) multidisciplinary subjects on radio and fiber optic communications, specific communication technologies, telecommunication networks, audio and video systems and communication equipment production. The optional modules are open to introduction of new subjects. Their main goal is to respond to and satisfy in a flexible way the requirements of the dynamic telecommunication market and industry. With the introduction of optional subjects the specialized education of the students is improved. They are provided with knowledge that is an upgrade of the compulsory subjects in independent fields. They improve their level of proficiency in foreign languages and their computer skills. In addition to this compulsory theoretical education the Faculty of Telecommunications gives students knowledge in theoretical and practical social and humanitarian sciences like Law, Management and Marketing, Intellectual Property and Foreign Languages.

Master The education in Master of Science degree provides profound fundamental training combined with specialization in a specific course. All 17 faculties of the Technical University of Sofia offer Master of Science degree programmes for education according to a State order, as well as paid forms in full-time and part time education. The part time mode of education is only paid. Regardless of the selected type of education, only students who have achieved no less than a Good mark in their Diploma for the Bachelor of Science educational and qualification degree can apply. Students are admitted according to the ranking of the presented documents. Ranking is done in descending order of the competition grade. When transferring from one educational and qualification degree to another, a subject studied beforehand may be acknowledged. Transition from Bachelor of Science educational and qualification degree to Master of Science educational and qualification degree in the same or similar course as listed in the curriculum. Documents are submitted to the faculty office for the respective course one week prior to the beginning of the academic year. The maximal grade is 100 points and is formed by: Average mark from the Diploma for Bachelor of Science for the educational and qualification degree multiplied by ten. The maximum is 60 points; The mark from the diploma thesis multiplied by 2. The maximum is 12 points; The sum of three subjects studied during the course of education, one and the same for a given course and selected by the respective Faculty Council. The maximum is 18 points; Up to ten points are allotted for each course after a decision of the Faculty Council for participation in a scientific conference, published paper, studied subject or a group of subjects, graduation in a specific university, etc. Education applicants under the state order and those by way of paid education rank amongst themselves in different groups. The duration of the education is 1.5 years (3 semesters). Transition from Bachelor of Science and/or Master of Science educational and qualification degree to Master of Science educational and qualification degree in a course or field different from the one studied by the applicant. The option is by compensatory education. Compensatory education is paid; the minimal duration is one semester (at least 6 subjects). Enrolment is by competitive ranking of the presented documents. After successful completion of the compensatory education the applicant may continue his/her education in a paid Master of Science degree together with students studying for Master of Science. An applicant with no diploma for Master of Science educational and qualification degree may apply for free (vacant) places under the State order in the respective Master of Science course. The ranking grade is the average mark from the average mark of the subjects studied according to the curriculum during the compensatory education and the average mark from the State examinations or from the diploma thesis of a completed educational and qualification degree. The minimal grade of the applicants, calculated after the described here method, must be at least Good. According to the curriculum 60 credits are acknowledged for ECTS. Enrolment is done after ranking of the presented documents. Applicants must have a mark of at least Good from the Diploma for completed Professional Bachelor of Science educational and qualification degree.
