As one of the departments that provides the best higher education services in maritime science in Indonesia, the Department of Naval Architecture provides a Master of Naval Architecture Program (PMTP) that can be completed in 4 (four) semesters. Basically, the Master of Naval Architecture Program has been running since 1993 under the name of the MSc Link Program which is a collaboration between the Faculty of Marine Technology (FTK) and the Department of Marine Technology, University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK. The Master of Naval Architecture Program was developed to be able to answer the increasing need for professional workers for master's graduates in Naval Architecture, along with the strengthening of national and global issues, namely inter-island connectivity, independence of the shipping industry, management of underwater space, renewable energy, marine environmental pollution and others. This Master's Program is supported by qualified teaching staff: 6 professors and 10 doctors, and is supported by available facilities including, lecture halls, 5 laboratories, libraries, internet connections, sports facilities, and others. The Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering provides opportunities for undergraduate (S1) and diploma IV (D-IV) graduates from various disciplinary backgrounds to continue their studies to the master's level. The degree earned by graduates is a Master of Engineering (MT). Students are declared to have completed a total of 36 credits consisting of compulsory courses, elective courses, research, and thesis writing in accordance with the curriculum. Some other graduation requirements include a minimum TOEFL score of 477, and participation in national journals or international seminars. The study period for this program is normally 4 semesters (2 years) with a maximum of 2 consecutive semesters of leave.
