The BSc (Hons) Psychology is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). The study of psychology is about understanding fascinating concepts such as human thinking, memory, problem solving, emotion, development, communication, relationships, and using a scientific approach to apply them in a broad range of areas from health, education and work to more specific areas, like teamwork, stress management and conflict resolution. The course builds students’ understanding of psychological theory to the stage where they will be able to apply it in practice. The first and second years provide students with a grounding in all the core areas of Psychology. Options in third year then allow students to specialise in areas as diverse as education, forensics, health, work psychology, cognitive neuroscience, positive psychology and substance use.
