The Doctoral School of Landscape Architecture and Landscape Ecology (TTDI) aims to include those scientific research and development directions and tasks that deal with the complex investigation of landscape architecture, landscape ecology, environmental problems and the scientific basis of planning/design theory, risk and impact assessment, development strategy planning providing a scientific foundation to planning/design, development, renovation, protection and rehabilitation, as well as climate impact and modelling of natural and human-impacted ecosystems in the field of ecology and landscape ecology. Due to the complexity of the ecological and landscape/geographical systems under study, research relies heavily on methods of design engineering, mathematics and information technology/geoinformation systems.

Subject groups

The research activities of the School are mainly in the field of agricultural engineering and partly in the field of agricultural/environmental sciences. The School's work is divided into seven subject groups.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

Communication is the key to educational success and, therefore any foreign or Hungarian PhD student is expected to have proficient written and spoken language skills in English (B2 level of English is required (i.e. TOEFL min. of 500 on PBT, 61 on iBT; a 6.0 on IELTS, EUROEXAM or equivalent accredited language exams, including completion of previous level of studies in English e.g.  GCSE or BSc) - Please, note that we do not accept DUOLINGO (DET) test as a proof of English proficiency ​​​​​​.), but in a few cases other world languages like French, German, Russian or Spanish can be acknowledged as well.
