BS in Biotechnology is a diverse, inter-disciplinary and topical subject which contributes much to health and wealth worldwide. This program will provide opportunities for students to extend and enhance their existing knowledge and understanding of biosciences, within the context of applications in biomedical, health and food sciences. It will help them to develop their work-related competences, enterprise skills and transferable skills and utilize research skills to undertake research in biosciences. The course contents will help students to critically evaluate advances in the biosciences and discuss the economic, social and ethical implications of developments in the biosciences and their applications. Enhance their employability as professional Public Health, Medicine and Food industry staff, and open up progression pathways to higher degrees in biotechnology. As a trained biotechnologist, graduates will have the tools which are increasingly in demand across a wide range of industries, from DNA fingerprinting, to more sophisticated brewing systems, biological waste treatment processes, and means of avoiding the risk of patient infection. Graduates will be able to progress to higher degree (taught and research) at Universities at home and abroad. BS Honors program is extended over a period of 8 semesters of study and research. We believe that our unique program brings new ideas and additional dynamics to the health care sector.
