The D'Amore-McKim School of Business offers both a five-year cooperative education model as well as a four-year cooperative education model leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (BSBA). We are globally recognized as the leading experience-based business school preparing students for organizations seeking highly motivated business leaders. Managing people, projects, and programs requires a considerable range of knowledge and skills. Effective managers must understand the business, be interpersonally competent, behave ethically, and diagnose and deal with human and organizational dynamics. The aim of the management concentration is both to increase knowledge of management so that students have a strong substantive “core” and to increase management skills. This includes studying the principles of motivation, leadership, negotiation, conflict resolution, project management, managing teams, organizational change, and their impact on business results. In addition, students have the opportunity to improve their managing skills. The curriculum offers courses in a range of relevant management topics. Some of the courses, including the required core course, are primarily skills oriented; they teach “how to.” Others are more content oriented; they teach “about management.”
