Those who choose to continue their education towards a doctoral degree will be well prepared for interdisciplinary physics research, but may have to take additional courses to fulfill the course requirements for a Ph.D. in physics. Solid State Physics: The engineering physics concentration in solid state physics seeks to extend and broaden training in those areas pertinent to the field of solid state device engineering. A bachelor's degree in either science or engineering from an accredited institution is required.
