The language is called 'New Irish' from the year 1200 to the present day. In this course, literature from all parts of the period is read and the development of the language is studied during it. There is also a special study of today's Irish and Scottish Irish. The staff of the Department of Irish are well-known in the fields where they work as scholars and they regularly publish with them. Also, the Department has a very good reputation for being friendly, which our students really like. The number of students is small enough that it is easy for the students to get to know each other. The students' Gaelic Association is all very active; The College has a very popular full-Irish residential scheme. All in all, we are a bet for a minor Irishness in the center of the capital.
