Bachelor degree program 6B04105 "State and Local Government" of Turan-Astana University represent an integrated and dynamically developing bachelor's degree training system in the field of management, focused on modern requirements of the economy, the public sector and priorities of socio-economic development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

A key feature of these SOEs is their focus on the formation of universal managerial and analytical competencies that combine classical management theories with practice-oriented business management tools, state and municipal structures . The educational process is built taking into account the current challenges of digitalization, sustainable development, public administration reforms and the transformation of organizational models.

Students are actively involved in research, participation in national and university grants, scientific and practical conferences, round tables and analytical projects on management, regional development, public policy and entrepreneurship. This forms students' research thinking, skills in analyzing managerial data and preparing informed decisions.

The quality and sustainability of educational programs are ensured by their compliance with the Dublin Descriptors, the National Qualifications Framework, professional standards in the field of management and public administration, as well as the systematic updating of the content of disciplines, taking into account the requirements of the labor market and the demands of employers. On March 28, 2024, the 6B04105 State and Local Government educational programs were awarded ACQUIN Quality Certificates. The accreditation is valid until September 30, 2032. For the period from 04/28/2023 to 04/27/2026, the educational programs 6B04105 State and Local Government were awarded Certificates of accreditation by the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating IAAR.

The 6B04105 program "State and Local Government" is focused on the formation of professional competencies in the field of public administration, state regulation of the economy, local self-government and the implementation of state programs. Students learn the basics of public policy, administrative management, budget process, strategic planning of territories, as well as modern approaches to the digitalization of the public sector and the provision of public services.

An important advantage of both GOPS is the flexibility and variability of educational trajectories, which allows taking into account the individual interests of students and the specifics of future professional activities, both in the business environment and in the system of state and local government. The interdisciplinary nature of the programs ensures the integration of managerial knowledge with economics, law, digital technologies, project management and data analytics.

The practice-oriented orientation of the training is enhanced by students' participation in business games, case studies, project work, internships in organizations of various forms of ownership, government agencies and the quasi-public sector. Student scientific circles and project groups are actively functioning, focused on the development of managerial and research skills.

In 2025, the Department launched the TAU-Rechlab laboratory as part of the TAU-InnoHub ecosystem, as well as students and teachers who have been active users of the Coursera educational platform since 2023.

        Rector’s Grant:

        The Rector’s Grant is funded from the university’s own resources. Last year, 100 Rector’s Grants were awarded. The Selection Committee evaluates all submitted applications and selects the best portfolios among the applicants.
