The objectives of the Master's Degree Course in Marine Biology and Ecology (LM-6) are: (i) to increase cultural preparation and knowledge in the field of biology by training a highly qualified and specialized professional figure, the marine environmental biologist, capable of dealing with environmental problems with a strongly biological approach. Training is achieved through in-depth scientific preparation, also at an operational level, in the disciplines that characterize the course; (ii) provide students with the opportunity to acquire cultural tools that enable them to embrace all the ecological processes that are at the basis of the production of goods and services that the marine environment offers to society, specific methods of analysis; (iii) to train master's graduates with a professional profile useful for knowing, classifying and solving environmental problems with a systemic and interdisciplinary approach, favoring skills in the management and conservation of the biological resources of the marine environment, both coastal and oceanic.
To this end, all the scientific laboratories used by the Degree Program (CdS) are able to provide the necessary skills since the research lines of the teachers of the CdS are consistent with the cultural profile of the Course. The Degree Course is organized in 2 years which allow to obtain the 120 University Educational Credits (CFU) necessary for the achievement of the degree. favoring the skills in the management and conservation of the biological resources of the marine environment, both coastal and oceanic.
