Statistics is the science of learning from data. Statistics
is important to help understand the vast amounts of data collected every day
and from all aspects of the society. The beauty of statistics is that it can be
combined with virtually any other discipline, whether its science, medicine,
computer science, sports, finance or engineering. At UNB Saint John, students
will take general introductory statistics courses covering the core elements of
statistics, specialized introductory statistics courses as well as third and
fourth years courses designed to fit the needs of students working on major
projects, heading to graduate school or looking for employment in the industry.

UNB strongly recommends Mathematique 30331C as the preferred pre-requisite to
Mathematique 30411C.
**Senior-year Mathematics, Chemistry and another approved
science course are required for admission to this program. The average marks in
senior Mathematics, Chemistry and the best other science course must be at
least 75%. Students who present only Chemistry will be considered at the
discretion of the Faculty.
