This standard biology degree prepares students for the vast majority of careers with biology components. Students in this major gain understanding of specific areas that is most interesting to them. Those areas may include (1) Health professions/human biology, (2) Cell and molecular biology, (3) The biology of whole organisms (ecology and field biology), or (4) A combination of biology and business (such as health care administration, pharmaceutical sales, or law). As a student, you will take a set of core biology courses and then make selections from tracks that direct you toward different biology specialties. Some students choose to combine multiple specialty tracks or to take a more general biology track. Students receiving the B.S. in Biology regularly go on to significant positions in graduate schools, research, industry, and the health professions. Over the years, literally hundreds of Biology majors have gone on to medical schools, dental schools, and other health-related programs. A particular concern of the Biology Department is to integrate a Christian worldview with strong academic biology instruction and experience. If you want a rigorous scientific education in the biological field, well-equipped teaching and research facilities, a strong faculty, and a Christian atmosphere, this is the place for you.
