The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biochemistry at ACU prepares students for graduate studies in biochemistry, or to pursue careers as professional biochemists. This degree includes a choice between three tracks: Standard track - this degree follows standard guidelines for undergraduate studies in biochemistry. The standard track includes studies in calculus, analytical chemistry, and general physics. American Chemical Society (ACS) track - approved by the American Chemical Society (ACS), this degree follows ACS guidelines for undergraduate study in biochemistry. The ACS track includes additional advanced studies in calculus, analytical chemistry, and engineering physics. Health (Biomedical) Sciences track - this degree is designed for students who are preparing to enter professional schools of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy or optometry, or who wish to enter the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries. The health sciences track includes studies in analytical chemistry, calculus, and biology. Pre-Vet track - this degree prepares students who plan to enter professional veterinary schools. The Pre-Vet track includes studies in microbiology, genetics, and organic chemistry.
