The Graduate Institute of Taiwan Literature focuses on the organic interplays between literature and culture, investigating the ways in which diverse literary creations fashions and are fashioned by cultural contexts of the island. Our Institute, currently ranked No.1 in Taiwan, claims three ongoing missions: 1. to expand the insular vision of Taiwan literature historiography; 2. to enrich the transdisciplinary interaction of local literature, contemporary discourse, and cultural media ; 3. to mobilize conversation and cooperation between East Asian cultural sphere and Austronesian languages circle. It is our ultimate goal to launch novel topics related to Taiwan literature and to further widen the horizon of critical studies in humanity.
