Currently, this Institute holds a team of 26 faculty members with a broad range of basic study. Major goals of the institute in education and research, evolving from the fundamental aquatic and fishery biology, are to develop the modern biotechnology and disease control in raising the production of fishery products. The concepts of environmental conservation and resources of environmental conservation and resource management are also enhanced to consider the equilibrium of the entire ecosystem. Meanwhile, innovated technologies developed in the laboratory are transferred to the marine biotech-industry to improve the aquaculture products, production and sustainable utilization of aquatic life resources.
