Department of Entomology

The Department of Entomology at National Taiwan University, using insects as targets for teaching and research, designs a curriculum that covers a broad range of sub-disciplines of life science and biotechnology. In the Department, students will learn molecular mechanisms operating in an insect cell and population dynamics of insects, plus the theory and practice of insect-pest management. Laboratories in the Department are well supported in both soft and hardware. After solid training, alumni are competitive in both academia and industry. Our compulsory courses need good visual ability to observe the morphology and tissues of insects by microscope, and also require good physical fitness to walk into forest and valley.
