History of IVCS
The Department of Veterinary Medicine at the National Taiwan University was established in 1942. Graduate programs of clinical veterinary medicine have been playing an important role in offering advanced clinical training for residents as well as master research programs for graduate students at the Graduate Institute and School of Veterinary Medicine for more than 30 years. The clinical division of Graduate Institute of Veterinary Medicine was changed to the Institute of Veterinary Clinical Sciences (IVCS) at the National Taiwan University, officially established in 2007, and the IVCS is located at the National Taiwan University Veterinary Hospital.
 
Faculty of IVCS
The faculty of the IVCS at the National Taiwan University is the largest team of clinical veterinary faculty among all veterinary schools/colleges in Taiwan. The faculty members of IVCS are devoted to clinical veterinary training and research programs in veterinary and biomedical fields. The faculty of IVCS is comprising of 11 full-time clinical faculty members and 4 adjunct clinical faculty members. Major research groups and fields of the IVCS include the following:

Master programs of IVCS for international students
The aim of the master program for international students at the IVCS is to train graduate students to become leading or excellent veterinary or biomedical scientists. The master programs of the IVCS usually last for 2~3 years depending on research progress with opportunities to advance to PhD program by application. Graduate students are expected to develop independent thinking and research skills upon completion of the training of their graduate studies. The graduates of master programs from the IVCS are usually very competitive in their career life, such as in professions of biomedical or veterinary fields, industry, or further advanced studies, etc.
