Clinical Toxicology (Master)
In fulfillment of the mission of the Department of Pharmaceuticals and Toxicology at the College of Medicine at Umm Al-Qura University to serve the university and society and in line with Vision 2030 for our dear Kingdom in developing health care services, the department offers the “Master’s Program in Clinical Toxicology”, due to the urgent need to have an emergency physician specialized in treating cases of poisoning that occur. To emergency departments in health facilities for those in urgent need of medical assistance that is only available from a doctor specialized in treating poisoning cases; Therefore, it has become necessary to provide specialized medical personnel to cover the needs of hospitals in the field of poisoning treatment in light of the increasing number of poisoning cases.
The program contains a series of theoretical and practical courses that work to prepare a specialized qualification in clinical toxicology in 53 credit hours divided into four semesters. Students who hold a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery and a Doctor of Pharmacy are accepted. Practical studies are taught and male and female students are trained to receive Diagnosing and treating critical cases suspected of being exposed to poisoning with the utmost professionalism.
