Establishment of the department:
  • In 1426 AH, the College of Dentistry was one of eight specializations in the College of Applied Sciences.
  • In the year 1428 AH, the College of Dentistry was established with its four departments, including the Department of Basic and Clinical Oral Sciences, and work at the college began at that time.
  • In the year 1430 AH, studies actually began at the college, and Saudi faculty members were appointed, and professors holding graduate degrees from Arab and international universities with diverse experiences were contracted, which in turn enriches the outcome of the department’s educational, research and medical process.
The Department of Basic and Clinical Oral Sciences consists of six scientific divisions:
  • Division of Basic Medical Sciences
  • Oral Biology Division.
  • Division of Oral Diseases.
  • Oral Radiology Division.
  • Division of Oral Medicine and Diagnostics.
  • Division of tissues surrounding teeth.
The Message: Progressing and improving the level of education, medical services, scientific research, and participating community activities by providing accurate education for students and professionals in oral and dental medicine and working to prepare distinguished medical cadres in the field of dentistry in general, and the fields of oral medicine and pathology, diagnostic oral sciences, and gum and surrounding tissue surgery in particular. Which is consistent with the mission of the college in its various departments that work through scientific and applied studies and research to prepare cadres of graduates capable of assuming responsibility in society.
