In line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the vision’s goal of improving health services and providing specialists in rare specialized fields, and in view of the urgent need for this specialty, a master’s program in medical genetics was established. It aims to graduate students who specialize in the field of medical genetics and are qualified to diagnose genetic diseases of various types, in addition to their ability to participate in specialized medical research in the field of medical genetics and medical diseases.
The program contains 48 study units spanning two years, in the first year all courses are covered. While the second year includes training in one of the leading hospitals in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in addition to graduation research. The Department of Medical Genetics at the College of Medicine seeks to create an effective environment to provide a high level of education and research to students to graduate competent specialists in this field.
