The Master's Program in Actuarial Science at ITB began as a collaboration with Jiwasraya Insurance in the 1980s. It was officially established in 1998. Since 2008, the program has actively collaborated with the Society of Actuaries of Indonesia (PAI) to provide the best actuarial education in Indonesia. Graduates of the ITB Master's Program in Actuarial Science are expected to solve problems related to actuarial mathematics, financial mathematics, and other relevant disciplines. To achieve this, graduates are equipped with a strong foundation in mathematics, probability theory, statistics, finance, and computing. The program allows students to interact with experts, both from within ITB and outside ITB, in conducting joint research involving multiple disciplines. On April 15, 2008, an MOU was signed between ITB and PAI to improve the quality of human resources in the actuarial field according to international actuarial profession standards. This agreement aims to meet the urgent need for Associate Actuaries in the insurance, pension fund, and related industries in Indonesia. Based on this agreement, students of the ITB Master's Program in Actuarial Science can apply for exam exemptions for certain modules to obtain ASAI certification from PAI by achieving specific grades in related courses. Program Objectives. The ITB Master's Program in Actuarial Science aims to create a harmonious environment for students to: • Have a devout attitude towards God Almighty; uphold human values in their work; internalize academic and professional ethics; be critical and responsible for their work independently and with integrity. • Master and utilize actuarial science and develop methodologies in the actuarial field to solve problems in actuarial science and other fields where actuarial science can be applied. • Use technological tools such as computers and software in statistics/mathematics/finance to solve problems in actuarial science and other fields where actuarial science can be applied. • Interact with experts from other fields and work together and contribute significantly in a multidisciplinary team to solve problems in actuarial science and other fields where actuarial science can be applied, both nationally, regionally, and globally. Accreditation The Master's Program in Actuarial Science at ITB is accredited as Excellent by LAMSAMA and recognized with the Emerging Regional Centers of Excellence (ERCE) Label by the European Mathematical Society (EMS)
