The Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) offers a Master of Landscape Architecture degree meant to produce professionals with knowledge in design, ecology, technology, and sustainability. Under the School of Architecture, Planning, and Policy Development (SAPPK), the initiative takes a multidisciplinary approach to handle challenging urban and environmental issues. Certified as a "Excellent" program by BAN-PT, this master's degree offers high academic standards backed by research labs, equipped studios, and seminar venues. Deep knowledge of the interactions between natural and cultural systems helps students create original landscape design ideas. The program seeks to generate graduates with technical and soft skills necessary for professional success as well as those who help to improve environmental quality. Combing coursework and thesis research, the four semesters of the curriculum total 56 credits. Landscape Design and Planning Studio, Ecology in Landscape Architectural, History and Theory of Landscape Architecture, Landscape Engineering and Construction are among the core disciplines. Students also learn Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Building Information Modeling (BIM), therefore improving their technical competency. Emphasizing critical thinking, system thinking, and design creativity, the program Through field research and international joint projects, students also get practical knowledge in sustainable landscape design. The initiative works with companies and associations including the Indonesian Society of Landscape Architects (IALI). At the academic level, ITB’s Master of Landscape Architecture program prepares students to tackle global challenges using systematic and technology-based approaches. The curriculum covers ecology, design theory, and landscape planning techniques that respond to environmental changes. Students are also trained to develop critical thinking and innovative solutions for projects ranging from small-scale designs to regional landscape planning. Graduates choose professions as consultants in urban and spatial planning, environmental researchers, or professional landscape architects. Through a curriculum in line with world events, ITB guarantees that its graduates are ready to address contemporary environmental issues and help to create a more sustainable future.
