Doctoral Program in Astronomy is an advanced educational program that has been accredited A by the National Accreditation Agency for Higher Education/BAN-PT (valid until 28 May 2024). This program cornerstone lies in the independent research work in the field of astrophysics or related subjects under the supervision of ITB Astronomy Research Group. The dissertation compiled by the students is an original research work and aiming to make significant contributions to the field. The research course in the Doctoral Program in Astronomy starts from the qualification exam stage aimed at evaluating the mastery of knowledge and the student ability to formulate a detailed and structured research plan. After passing the qualification exam, students will be granted doctoral candidate status, conduct research under the guidance of the promotor and co-promotor, and periodically evaluated in the form of seminars and research progress reports. At the end of the phase, doctoral candidate students are required to publish their scientific work in a reputable journal and attend a doctoral session to defend their dissertation. With their expertise, graduates of the Doctoral Program in Astronomy have broad job prospects, including career as lecturers at universities and becoming researchers at research institutes.
