1. The prime focus of the programme is on the planet Earth, as the subject and this study involve understanding the processes and changes that take place on the surface and subsurface of the Earth.
2. Apply fundamental geological principles and concepts in theoretical, practical especially in field situations.
3. Solve geological problems using logical scientific methods and technology tools through creative thinking.
4. Synthesize geological data on a range of spatial and temporal scales to make interpretations that allow for scientific uncertainty.
5. Effective communication of geological information concisely and accurately using written, visual, and verbal means appropriate to the situation through soft skill courses.
6. Employ new and established technologies to collect and interpret geological data, recognizing their strengths and limitations through industry collaborations.
7. Acquire geological knowledge including indigenous knowledge and expertise from a range of sources in a variety of situations.
8. Appreciate international perspectives on geosciences and recognize the importance of global standards for collecting and reporting geological data.
