Social Work Department education programs consist of courses that contain information that can be used in all levels of social workers' fields of study. The curriculum and contents were prepared by considering the most up-to-date approaches, discussions and theoretical developments in the world. The education period in the Social Work Department is 4 years and it is carried out as theoretical and applied courses. As part of our undergraduate program, there are compulsory practice courses in the fourth year (seventh and eighth semesters). The implementation weight of the social work program is 30%. In order for our students to transfer the knowledge, they have gained in theoretical courses into practice, they will be practicing institutions in the field of social work that provide protective, curative and social welfare-enhancing services in the presence of instructors. The application dimension of social work education is the process of testing to what extent all the theoretical knowledge learned has been internalized in a sense. In addition to this, the implementation process also covers the multi-faceted experience areas of working in an institution. In other words, beyond just confronting with the client group, students learn about the corporate culture, recognize and express themselves in this structure, communicate, recognize the relevant problem area, learn the type of service, style and functioning, and undertake professional and professional responsibilities. In this process, they develop the skills of observing, evaluating, developing appropriate intervention strategies, planning and implementing them.
The language of instruction of the program is Turkish. In order to graduate, the student has to complete the compulsory and elective courses of 240 ECTS in total, 30 ECTS per semester specified in the education curriculum. These courses include educational activities such as theory, homework, practice, projects, and presentations.
The aim of the undergraduate program of the Department of Social Work is to provide the student with the theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of social work, to enable the student to acquire the skills that a social worker must gain in practice by performing the necessary applications in institutions.; It is aimed to gain qualifications that graduates can apply in local governments and non-governmental organizations in public and private institutions. Our goal is to train students who are open to innovations and changes, who have a holistic perspective. Also, we aim to train professionals who can use the necessary scientific methods in the best way in accordance with the needs of individuals, families and societies.
