Master’s in early childhood education programme is a post-graduate degree designed for students wishing to further their education and conduct research in the areas of early childhood education. It provides the opportunity for students to delve further into what it takes to successfully guide and teach children. They will acquire a good knowledge of the theory and practice on how to educate, shape, and influence the lives of young children. Beyond classroom context, they will also study about the effectiveness of early childhood education. The programme typically addresses research methods, statistical analysis, curriculum design, teaching-learning theories, administration as well as the sociological, psychological, and cultural development of children. Besides, students will be given exposures to research and field experience. Graduates of this programme will be well-equipped to practise their expertise both in Malaysia and overseas.

Admission Requirements

A Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 or its equivalent; OR

A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 or its equivalent, as accepted by the HEP Senate AND 3 years working experience in early childhood fields; OR

A Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 or its equivalent, as accepted by the HEP Senate AND a Diploma in ECE / 4 years working experience in early childhood fields; OR

A Bachelor’s Degree not meeting CGPA of 2.50 or its equivalent, as accepted by the HEP Senate can be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in early childhood fields and rigorous internal assessment.

For international students: TOEFL score of 600 OR IELTS score of 6.0 OR equivalent. Students not meeting this requirement must undergo English proficiency courses, with proficiency determined by an internal assessment.
