The role of art educators in the education system is to provide guidance to students in valuing and producing visual art. MSU's Bachelor in Education programme specializing in visual arts will equip you with the fundamentals in nurturing a love of art in young learners. With their experiences in visual arts, our lecturers will provide you with in-depth guidance and motivation so will be well prepared for a career in education and the larger creative community such as galleries, museums, and art organisations. You graduate with a host of practical, social, managerial, and entrepreneurial skills alongside core visual art and teaching skills.

Admission Requirements

A pass in STPM with a minimum of Grade C (GP 2.00) in any TWO subjects;
A pass in STAM with a minimum grade of Jayyid;
A Certificate in Matriculation or Foundation with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00;
A Diploma (Level 4, MQF) in any field with at least a CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00;
A Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) / Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM) / Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) subject to HEP Senate / Academic Board’s approval*. The HEPs are required to conduct screening and provide appropriate bridging courses;
An Advanced Diploma (Level 5, MQF) with at least a CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00;
Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian government as equivalent to the above requirements.

Additional requirement for Teaching English as Second Language (TESL): Achieve a minimum of Band 4 in MUET or its equivalent. (Programme Standard: Language)

English Competency Requirement (International Student):

Achieve MUET or any English competency test equivalent to a Low B1 in the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
