The Bachelor of Public Relations Management programme aims to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for contemporary public relations practice. Companies nowadays spend large amounts of money hiring professionals who specialize in public relations. This programme integrates knowledge and abilities with the student's own talents in public relations and in entertainment. It also focuses on the effective management of communication through the experiences communicating in a variety of contexts and research. To keep pace with rapid changes in the industry, solid foundation in communications theory is blended with practical, hands-on-work experience including field placement of entertainment talents in public environments.

Admission Requirements

Based on Program Standard (Media and Communication Studies) – 2nd Edition 2025:

A pass in STPM or its equivalent, with a minimum of Grade C (GPA 2.00) in any TWO subjects and a credit in English at SPM or its equivalent;
A pass in STAM with a minimum grade of Jayyid and a credit in English at SPM or its equivalent;
A Diploma (Level 4, MQF) or its equivalent, with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and a credit in English at SPM or its equivalent;
A Diploma in Media and Communication (Level 4, MQF) or its equivalent;
Certificate Matriculation/Foundation or its equivalent, with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and a credit in English at SPM or its equivalent;
Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) / Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 (subject to HEP Senate/Academic Board’s approval);
Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM) with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 (subject to HEP Senate/Academic Board’s approval);
Other relevant and equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government.

Note:

Candidates with a pass in English at SPM level (or equivalent) must take a reinforcement English subject equivalent to SPM level before enrolment.
Candidates without English in their qualification must also take the reinforcement English subject before enrolment.
Students must pass the reinforcement English before taking related core courses.
Students from Matriculation / Foundation or its equivalent can be exempted from taking reinforcement English, provided that the English offered at that programme level is equivalent / higher than English offered at SPM level.

English Competency Requirement (International Student):

Achieve a grade in the MUET or any English competency test equivalent to a High B1 in the CEFR.
