The study program in the general field of study 023 Philology, professional training field 0231 Language Studies, specialty 0231.3 Translation and Interpretation (English and French) aims to provide educational services in the field of translation and interpretation, with the purpose of training and developing the professional competencies of future translators and interpreters (according to the Occupational Classification of the Republic of Moldova, occupation code 2643 Translator/Interpreter). These specialists will be capable of working in contemporary society, characterized by linguistic and cultural diversity, and oriented toward the general human values promoted at the European and international level.
The overall goal of training in this field is to prepare translators and interpreters who can translate into at least two foreign languages (English and French) in a wide range of professional and cultural situations. This goal is achieved by developing linguistic, transfer, methodological, disciplinary, and technical competencies. The study program is designed to develop the B2/C1 level of competence at the bachelor's cycle (according to the "Common European Framework of Reference for Languages").
