It is a German studies course with study components in the compulsory subject areas of German linguistics, older German literature and newer German literature. The focus of all course content is on the aspect of mediality. The course not only offers the purely technical training, which is the main focus and enables students to work academically in German studies and related fields and to gain further qualifications even after their master's degree. Rather, it also contains a compulsory study component in the form of a practical module related to specific professional fields of application, in which experience is gained in a professional field typical for Germanists, accompanied by academic reflection and evaluation.

Admission Requirements

A degree in German studies (usually a Bachelor's degree or comparable with at least 180 CP) with an overall grade of at least "good" (2.5). Applicants with related degrees (e.g. communication or media studies) can also be admitted upon application.
Applicants who do not have a German university entrance qualification or have not obtained their first professional university degree in a German-language degree program at a German university must also demonstrate very good knowledge of the German language at level C2 (GER).
