Chemical Engineering: Molecular and Structural Product Design

Programme overview

Main Subject

Engineering - Chemical

Degree

BSc

Study Level

Undergraduate

Study Mode

On Campus

This modern course sits at the point where chemistry and engineering meet. It conveys knowledge and skills relating to the development of new materials, such as nanostructures and the discovery and synthesis of new materials for the pharmaceutical industry. Students gain an insight into fundamental research, which is strongly application orientated – for example students look into the mathematical design of a reactor for the large-scale implementation of processes previously researched at molecular level. Disciplines such as bioprocess engineering or chemical reaction engineering are also part of the course. The course offers an insight into experimental work in the laboratory. Practical placements in industry enable students to gain initial experience in working with large-scale production plants.
