The Master's program in Psychology offers the opportunity to deepen knowledge and skills in psychology and to specialize in a specific area of application. Students can choose to specialize in  Environmental Psychology/Human-Technology Interaction, Clinical Neuroscience, or  Cognitive Neuroscience .

All specialization programs of the Master's in Psychology consist of a general part, which is identical for all three specializations, and a specialization-specific part. All students acquire in-depth knowledge in the areas of research methods, psychological diagnostics, and clinical psychology. The specialization in Environmental Psychology/Human-Technology Interaction focuses on the interaction between humans, the environment, and technical systems, as well as on the effects of human behavior on the environment. The primary goal is to develop theory-based options for promoting environmentally friendly behavior and sustainable consumption. The Clinical Neuroscience specialization imparts knowledge and skills for the diagnosis, treatment, and investigation of mental disorders and their neurological foundations. The Cognitive Neuroscience specialization focuses on the neuronal foundations of perception, cognition, and emotion, and the associated measurement methods like neuroimaging.

Admission Requirements

1. the application for the master's programme in psychology requires the successful completion of at least three years of Bachelor's studies in psychology. Proof of a minimum grade of 2.5 is required. The completed degree must include at least 8 CP in the field of clinical psychology and neuropsychology*.

2. Applicants who are not yet able to present their degree certificate at the time of application provide proof of qualification for the Master's programme by presenting a graded certificate of achievement. At least 150 credits must have been achieved.
3. foreign applicants who have obtained their degree according to Paragraph 1 in a non-German-speaking degree programme must prove their German language skills by passing the "Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang ausländischer Studienbewerber" (German Language Test for the Admission of Foreign Applicants to Universities) Level 3 or the TestDAF Level 5 prior to enrolment.
Sufficient knowledge of the English language is recommended in order to be able to participate in English-language courses.
