Our MSc Advanced Management (Value-Based Health & Care) pathway has been designed for leaders, clinicians, policymakers, and managers who want to transform healthcare systems by delivering sustainable, patient-centred value. It combines advanced management knowledge with a specialist focus on the design, implementation, and leadership of value-based health and care. Alongside PG Diploma and PGCert exit routes, this pathway equips graduates to respond to the urgent need for healthcare systems that achieve better outcomes at lower cost, while upholding equity and integrity.

The programme develops both a strategic and practical understanding of how value-based models can be designed and implemented across complex healthcare systems. You will critically explore themes such as innovation in health and care, outcome measurement, resource allocation, strategy for value-based delivery, and the implementation of large-scale system change. Applied learning ensures you can translate these insights into effective solutions in health service organisations, social care settings, and policy environments.

Our programme is structured into three segments. The first provides foundational MBA modules, building cross-disciplinary skills across the MSc Advanced Management portfolio. The second focuses on value-based health & care modules that deepen expertise in strategy, innovation, and implementation. The final segment centres on the capstone Research in Practice project, embedded throughout the course and aligned with real-world challenges from health and care systems.

MSc Advanced Management (Value-Based Health and Care) is available part-time only, studied over two years. It’s flexible design supports healthcare professionals in balancing study with clinical or managerial roles while focusing on applied knowledge and skills.
