Why is digital technology designed the way it is? Who designs it and for whom? Have you ever considered why the default voice assistant is female? What’s the real cost of cloud computing and artificial intelligence? How can technology help people first?

The Digital Technology degree covers the creation, critical examination, and deployment of digital data and systems, and their impact on societies (and other environments) around the world. Its broad scope will enable you to develop your knowledge and understanding of the digital world, and how digital technologies can be made and used creatively, productively, and safely.

Throughout the three-year programme, you will encounter topics that will expand your appreciation of the societal, cultural, economic, and political impacts of Digital Technology. You will be able to utilise a set of industry standard tools to plan, develop and produce digital products ranging from marketing campaigns to computer games.

By the end of the degree, you will be equipped with the skills to enter a range of different digital-based roles across a wide spectrum of industries and public services. You will also benefit from significant transferrable skills in research, communication, and engagement.
