The 6-year Degree in Medicine and Surgery will train you as a doctor. You will receive a solid base of clinical knowledge through certified professional practices based on tutorial tuition, with a detailed understanding of the medical-scientific method and human sciences. Contact with the patient is encouraged from the very first year of the course and integrated with the basic and clinical sciences, throughout the whole course and through the tutorial activities. The Course strikes the right balance between basic sciences and clinical and methodological medical practice. The teaching method is interactive and multi-disciplinary, with the daily integration of basic sciences and clinical disciplines and early clinical involvement. It includes problem oriented learning, experiential learning, problem solving, decision making and the widespread use of seminars and conferences. Assistance in hospital wards and in the surgeries throughout the territory is expected, and the relationship with the patient, also from a psychological perspective, is facilitated.
You will also study English, IT and multimedia methodologies, also through e-learning, tele-didactics and tele-medicine.
Graduates in medicine and surgery can practice as doctors-surgeons in various clinical, health and biomedical areas. The degree in Medicine and Surgery is also required for admission to the Medical Specialization Schools.
