design, conduct and manage motor activities with particular attention to gender and age specificities, for people and athletes with physical and/or sensory and/or intellectual disabilities;
design, conduct and manage motor activities for educational, recreational and sporting purposes adapted to persons and athletes with physical and/or sensory and/or intellectual disabilities;
design, conduct and manage motor activities aimed at achieving and maintaining the optimal framework of physical efficiency and well-being for people suffering from chronic stabilized diseases (heart disease, obesity, diabetes, transplanted solid organ...);
design, conduct and manage motor activities aimed at achieving and maintaining the optimal framework of physical efficiency for people in different ages, especially in the elderly.
In order to achieve these specific objectives, graduates will:
have knowledge of the physiopathological bases of the adaptation to physical exercise in the individual affected by physical and/or sensory and/or intellectual disability or by chronic stabilized pathologies;
have solid conceptual foundations on the theories of training in the various contexts of motor and sports practice, for athletes with physical and/or sensory and/or intellectual disabilities or who have chronic stabilized pathologies;
have solid conceptual foundations on the theories of training in the various contexts of motor and sports practice in different ages and in particular in the elderly;
be acquainted with and know how to apply methods and instrumentation aimed at functional evaluation, also in relation to the most modern technologies and applications/softwares;
be acquainted with and know how to apply methods of physical performance assessment, in the context of gender, age classes, pathologies and disabilities;
be familiar with dietary sciences and techniques applied to physical activities and sports, also in relation to the specificity of training and recovery in the different Paralympic disciplines, or depending on the different nutritional needs for people suffering from specific chronic diseases (e.g., diabetics);
have specific pedagogical and educational bases for proper communication with people with disabilities;
have general knowledge of group sociology, communication and marketing, also in relation to institutions, associations and families;
have knowledge of the regulations governing organisations and associations involved in activities for people with disabilities, for the elderly and also for voluntary organizations.
To achieve its specific educational objectives, the path characterizing the Master’s Degree in "Sciences and Techniques of Preventive and Adapted Physical Activities" (LM-67) provides basic training to ensure a high level of knowledge in the physiological, physiopathological and biological fields, as well as tools and methodologies useful for functional assessment, with contents of biomechanics and systems of analysis and information processing. The master’s degree focuses afterwards on the deepening of competences of programming and conducting of different typologies of adapted motor activities, including also physical exercise programs for people with different pathological forms that benefit from physical activity and sports activities, addressed to people with disabilities and elderly population. The framing of motor activity in the social and cultural context is proposed as a necessary knowledge to place the operative intervention in an appropriate reference framework for society and its recent developments. Each Course will be coordinated by the President, who will ensure a uniform design of the learning objectives, the identification of the aims pursued by the modules and the most effective methods of verification of results. Transversally, the laboratory and seminar activities will focus on innovative contents related to technical disciplines as programming adapted motor activity, technological, managerial, legal and psycho-pedagogical in which to share concrete experiences at the regional, national and international level. The training activities are scheduled in the first and second year, identifying a regional and extra-regional training network (also abroad) mapping structures/ leaders of excellence in the field of preventive motor activities and adapted to the aims of the training project. To this end, each student will be supported in the identification of his/her learning objectives, both on specific and transversal skills. The set of objectives of the professionalizing activities will be identified starting from the core competences (competences in the field of programming and management of the preventive and adapted motor activities, educational and research) in order to ensure internal coherence of the training project.
