This course is the only one in France to offer complete training in English linguistics including different levels of analysis (syntax, semantics, pragmatics, phonetics, phonology) and a comparative dimension, while providing the appropriate tools for processing speech and writing.
Students are trained in research and through research. They are supported to present their work at conferences.
Themes and objects:
- Conversational analysis, dialogue, interaction, questions;
- Verbal anaphora, verbal complementation, nominalizations;
- Time, aspect, modality, evidentiality;
- Phonetics and phonology of English accents, learners' pronunciation, syllable phonology.
