The Master's program in "Survey Sociology" is characterized by its commitment to integrating theoretical inquiry with empirical rigor in the sociological approach. It provides in-depth theoretical knowledge in the sociology of the family, health, and work, as well as in the sociology of social inequalities, gender, and digital practices. Students acquire strong skills in a wide range of methods: interview-based surveys, observation, questionnaires, statistical data analysis using R, textual analysis, the use of the web for social sciences, visual sociology, and more. An individual research thesis is required in both the first and second years of the Master's program, allowing each student to develop a research question based on the creation of an original corpus. Various group research projects are also conducted, notably during a one-week fieldwork placement in the first year.

The training is complemented by the learning of skills essential to the practice of the profession of sociologist: notions of law and ethics applied to social science surveys, sociology in English, bibliographic management tools, training in techniques for responding to calls for tenders.

The Master's program in Survey Sociology offers theoretical and methodological training that prepares students for various careers in sociology, both in public research and in the private or semi-public sectors. It also allows students to pursue doctoral studies (in France or abroad).
