The Life and Earth Sciences (SVT) degree is a three-year program. The first year is shared with the Life Sciences (SV) degree, with the exception of geoscience courses, which are specific to the SVT degree. The second and third years of the SVT program offer progressive specialization in organismal biology (study scales ranging from molecules to ecosystems) and in environmental science and geosciences. In the second year, students choose between two tracks: "Biodiversity and Ecosystems" and "Teaching Professions," which continue into the third year as separate tracks. The "Teaching Professions" track prepares students for the CAPES SVT competitive examination and for entry into the MEEF Master's program.
