The course is aimed at those who wish to further their knowledge within the context of Community Health Practice. Students will have opportunity to undertake a variety of modules according to need and/or interest.The award has been designed to provide students with the opportunity to share professional knowledge and insight in a multi-professional forum, reflecting on the place of their clinical expertise and practice in relation to other disciplines contributing to community health practice.Delivery of the course is mixed allowing students to select from modules to study on campus or via elearn.The course team/module leaders are all qualified in the field in which they teach and hold relevant NMC registration (where applicable). Each member of the team has their own speciality and you will benefit from their expertise. Staff are involved with publishing their work and publications will be highlighted to you throughout the course. All the team have further Degrees or are working towards them. A major strength of the MSc Community Health Practice course is the expertise of staff to facilitate shared learning across a range of community disciplines. This facilitates the discussion of common issues and concerns, enabling examples of good practice to be shared.

- Have a first degree (2:2 class or above) or equivalent, in a relevant subject (i.e. health related, pure science or social science) from an approved Institution of Higher Education. If you do not meet these criteria you are advised to contact the course leader for advice. Transfer of credits in accordance with University regulations may be possible.
- Be working in, or able to access a practice environment that will enable them to meet and achieve the course learning outcomes.
- Be able to provide two references (one practice/work and one academic).
- Be able to satisfy the Course Leader that you are suitable to engage with the programme
- Informal enquiries are welcomed. Your application will be considered on its merits and in the light of the nature and scope of the programme. You may be invited for an informal discussion before being offered a place. The purpose of this discussion is first to ensure that you understand the nature of the programme and its demands and to pathway plan your modular route leading to the identified award and exit point.
- If you do not meet the above criteria you may still be considered for admission to the programme; you will be required to provide evidence of suitable experience and supportive qualifications.
- Have the ability to be self-funding or have the commitment of their employer to support course fees
- Have their manager’s support for the course (where appropriate)
