On this challenging and practical course, you’ll examine the application of innovative technology to solve commercial and industrial computing problems. Computing develops your technical, business and people-oriented skills preparing you for a variety of careers. The first foundation year introduces technical skills and develops the confidence and academic skills required for Honours-level study. You’ll develop essential computing skills in your second year with students on other courses. This lets you switch from computing to a more specialised course if it is more appropriate to your career plans. If you want the breadth of study offered by computing, you choose two routes from: Business Computing, Databases, Multimedia, Software Development and Computer Networks. Depending on your choice of routes, a range of careers is possible including: analysing clients' business requirements and specifying appropriate IT systems, designing and managing networks or developing multimedia, databases or high performance software.
