Electronic engineers design, develop, test, and oversee the creation of anything from drones and electric cars to the technology in smartphones, sat navs and systems in hospitals.

Our course offers you many different ways to develop your understanding of electronics. You'll work on lab-based projects, work individually and in small teams. You'll learn to project manage and bring your technical knowledge to problem solve different situations.

During your second year, you can study at either our China or Malaysia campus where you will have the opportunity to experience differing cultures. The curriculum is exactly the same as that of the UK and all teaching is in English. Your year will be spent studying core modules, and depending on the subject specialisms you have selected, appropriate optional modules.

With ever-changing developments in electronics technology, you will graduate with the confidence to create, understand and develop the electronic systems of the future.

Our course will give you the required engineering expertise for a career in engineering or in a variety of other professions.

All undergraduate students in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering initially follow a common programme of study, allowing them to change to a different plan up until the end of their third semester in year two. It is also possible to add or remove a year abroad and year in industry after joining the course. By year three, you can choose to specialise in the topics that interest you and suit your career aspirations.
