The Master of Musical Arts (MMA) is a performance-oriented degree designed for students who desire further education beyond a Master of Music degree. The MMA is a two-year degree program for external candidates, one year for internal applicants. An MM degree in the same major is required for admission. This rigorous program offers enhanced performance training and numerous performance opportunities. In addition to private lessons and chamber music, students take part in relevant ensembles such as the Yale Philharmonia, Yale Opera, and Yale Schola Cantorum. MMA candidates will perform a recital in each year of study. The School of Music also offers support for travel and career development.

Students who hold a bachelor?s degree or its equivalent and are looking for a master?s degree in their area of specialty. Other English language Requirements: Yale?s most competitive applicants will have TOEFL scores of at least the following, 600 on the paper-based TOEFL, 250 on the computer-based TOEFL.
