Nutrition is a contemporary issue, and the connection between diet and health is becoming increasingly important. The diet of the population is key to preventing illnesses including diabetes, heart disease and cancer. The knowledge and skills that you will gain on BSc (Hons) Nutritional Sciences, combined with our option unit system, will prepare you to pursue a career in nutrition, public health, health promotion or food product development. Graduates could also progress onto postgraduate studies or research in areas including dietetics, food product innovation, or public health. We also offer a four-year sandwich route where you have the opportunity to spend your third year on placement. This course is accredited by the Association for Nutrition. This gives you the opportunity to make contacts and gain experience that will give you the edge when applying for your first graduate position. This course provides you with a mix of academic knowledge and practical skills. We have a range of pilot-scale food manufacturing equipment, chemistry and microbiology laboratories, a taste panel suite, product development kitchen, bakery and food quality testing equipment.
